Chicken Suit

Wow, okay, we sure had a strong response to that last post. I guess if it makes everyone uncomfortable I will consider taking it down. Since this is our family journal and the kids will see it some day when they are of age, I will think of their interests too. Perhaps they don't want to see evidence of the days when we all jumped in the tub and had a good time. I can see how people would think the pics were creepy now, but at the time we had missed Ben so much and it was so cute to see how much he had missed the kids. He was just supposed to be giving them a bath and when I went in 20 minutes later to see that he had missed them so much while he was gone that he couldn't stand to not be with them doing whatever they were doing, it was just cute, {and way funny}. Sorry to those I offended and for those who thought it was TMI.

In other news, this may be a little reminscent of the post a few months ago when I dressed Laine in her Sunday dress Saturday nights for early Church. Long story short, she is now wearing her Halloween costume, the chicken suit, as jammies. Again it was MY brilliant idea. The girl has SERIOUS blankie issues and will not sleep with them. She also won't wear socks. She wakes up as cold as ice! So I thought it would be great to put her in this really warm suit, and now at night we call socks "chicken socks" and she is really excited to wear them to bed. I also like the feeling of getting my $'s worth out of the costume since it has now been worn many times. It is a win-win for everyone.

Hmmm...why didn't I think of this one? Bobby's room is the coldest in the house. He always wolk up cold in the morning and I felt so bad! He is still in a crib so he doesn't really do covers yet, although I know when he is cold because he curls up in the corner with his blanket on his head. Anyways...last week I broke down (thanks to my mother's constant nagging) and bought him sleepers (pj's with feet). They seem to be working the past week and he stays warm. You are too silly!

Oh Gal - I can't believe people...this was not at all inappropriate. The thought didn't even cross my mind so I'm just baffled that people would even think of it that way.
But, anyway, great idea on the costume....keep Laine toasty warm!

First of all, I was going to comment on the last post and then didn't for some reason but I just looked back and I think it is kinda funny how many people thought it was weird. I agree with Jocee and I see nothing wrong with it. We take baths/showers with the kids all the time. I think it is weird that people are so private with their kids. It is going to produce a bunch of self conscious, confused children if you ask me. It shouldn't even have to be questioned.
I love the "chicken suit." That is a good idea. Alex is the same way with blankets so I rotate between two super warm sleeper pj's. Maybe I ought to find a chicken suit? Who knows this could start something.

See Nat, I think this is weirder than the family bath! Quite funny though. I think the only wrong thing about posting the blog is that Jesse can't get the image of his brother in a bubble bath out of his head!! Ha Ha Ha

I also agree with Jocee, there is no problem with your last post. If your kids were like 10 and 12, that would be weird, but they are 3 and 1. Give me a break!

I am amazed at how your mind works. Laine is cold so you think, "I know, she could wear her costume to bed." I think you are the only one that could even think that. Very good problem solving skils, and hilarious!

I think anyone that knows your family should not think a thing of your last post. Glad you found a way to keep Laine warm at night. Good night chicken!

I wasn't saying ok, weird to be rude or anything just fyi... I was saying it to be funny. I don't think there is anything wrong with it. Had you maybe somehow set an automatic timer and then had all of you in the bath, that might have been a little odd, but there were plenty of bubbles and I am just going to assume Ben was wearing a swimsuit.

I wish Laine would have wore her costume for me last week! Silly little chicken

I am so glad that I am finally caught up on the blog, I was so behind. Luckily, I didn't miss too much. People should lighten up, the blog was hilarious! And I am dying about Nicole's memory, let's recreate that when I get home huh? I will get ready for the barking order!

You seriously are one creative gal! I love Laine's chicken suit as jammies. And I wanted to add my $.02 worth and say that I didn't think your last post was inappropriate at all!
