Alive

Hey, the move was hell. I'm not going to sugar coat anything. It was a really beyotch.

I honestly didn't think I would survive the last day. I had stayed so strong through the whole ordeal! But I really nearly crumbled in the end it was that bad. Long story, but the movers tricked me into thinking they had packed up everything up but the fridge and Laine's bed, which wouldn't fit, and we headed off to the new house. I paid them and went home to meet the cleaners only to discover most of the upstairs large furniture was still inside {long story, seriously}. They also had said they would take the piano and then when they showed up they said no, they wouldn't take it so the piano was still there too.

Did I mention I was by myself while Ben was on a business trip? So, I then hauled everything out myself and wondered what the hell was going to happen next. My stuff sat half of my house belongings on the lawn until nearly 10:30 at night when some awesome men with a van came to my rescue. We loaded up and they drove the van over and I got into my car to drive my load over and just SOBBED like a baby the whole way. I stopped to get some cash to pay the cleaners and it was really dark outside and no one was around so I continued whaling, like a child, unabashedly {I would have prefered to have done it in the fetal while sucking my thumb, but there was still work to do} and then I realized it was so dark I hadn't seen that there WERE people, people all around, taking what was supposed to be a nice evening stroll. I ran to my car, peeled out, and continued my cry, alone.

The men helped me load another load over and the house was cleaned and I was OUT! The next morning I moved in and ladies from the ward were there to help clean and men were there to help move big stuff and put stuff together and by noon the place as already livable. It was awesome. I love the new ward, new house, and new area. It has been a bit full-on and overwhelming, even in a positive way at times, but we are really happy.

I STILL don't have internet though! It is taking forever! Monday is the day I guess, so I'll be back up and running then. For now, please enjoy my current FAVORITE Australian ad campain. It's complete with billboards all over the city. I was just going to email it to my family, but thought maybe others out there might enjoy it as well. I'm not ashamed to admit I get a serious kick out of it every time it runs.

Wow re-hearing about the move gives me the chills! I hate moving and dread the day when I have to do it again! Sorry it was so hard and you were alone. Good for your new ward though. Glad you are settled and happy!

Bummer deal about your move! I am glad you got over to the new place okay--I don't know about you, but I hate feeling like a drama magnet! :) Usually comes in times of stress...which is pretty much 80% of my year. :)

Congrats on the move!

I hate moving, isn't it the all time worst and you have done it quite a bit in the past 2 years! I am sorry, I would cry too. I am glad you like your new house and area. Doesn't it suck not having the internet!

I am so sorry that you had to go through all of that! You are seriously a trooper! I would be bawling too! I am so glad that your new ward was there to step in and help! Got to love the church! I hope that things begin to settle down and that you will feel more at ease! Love you!

Those movers stink! Could you stop payment on the check? Our movers tried to do something similar last time we moved. Stinkin' movers!! I'm glad your new ward is awesome!!

Oh man, I seriously am feeling some empathy pains right now for you. Moving--no matter what--just stinks! One time when we were moving from AZ to UT when we tried to drive over the Hoover Dam with our TWO large trucks the "dam-people" (pun intended) wouldn't let us pass over the dam without first UNLOADING both trucks right there in 120 degree weather so they could check to make sure we weren't carrying any bombs across. Yup,so while my children sat in the car, my hubby, myself and our seriously awesome home teacher (who so lovingly offered to drive one of the trucks up for us) not only unloaded BOTH trucks, we had to re-load them as well while I too sobbed my eyes out like a baby. Don't worry my hubby's back went out after that one, and man if I thought you felt like reading about any more of my life story I would continue to tell you the agony of the rest of the move. So, I am SOOOO sorry that you had a crappy move...but SOOOO happy to hear that you are still alive! Hang in there!

wow. i think i can use this term around you and you might not judge me too harshly: that sounds like a total shit-show. you are a strong woman, physically and emotionally. i'd still be sitting in the car, rocking myself back and forth.

I think that I am not going to be able to read my sister-in-laws's blogs any more. There has been so much swearing lately on yours and Kate's. My virgin ears. Well must get the Hell out of here. Tootle Ass.

Seriously, that video made me laught out loud. What made me laugh harder was imagining you roaming the streets bawling like a baby. It's ok sissy pants!

I'm so sorry to hear that the move was so awful, it's not like moving isn't awful enough. I did laugh a little when you said you went to get money and kept crying just to find out people were around.

Loved the video too, but what's with the pinky move?

I hope you called those movers and gave them a piece of you mind!

The video is hilarious. I seriously didn't even know what that meant and one day while attending Snow College a guy from the baseball team came over to my apartment to visit me. My roomies were in the background giving me the ol' pinky sign. Not that I was even interested in THAT, but now I know.

I'm sorry to hear that your move was so hard. Moving is hard when the husbands are around and movers actually do their jobs. I did get a kick out of you wailing in the presence of others on accident. I bet they all had a good conversation topic:)

I am sorry you had to go through that alone. Sometimes life seems to heavy to bear--seriously. Glad you made it through and that you have a great ward. You guys made all the difference to me in Korea. I seriously love you, becky, and stacey for bailing me out that first week at church (and a million times after). You are awesome
