Time for a new high chair?

Those of you who know me well will say that nothing has ever sounded like me more than what you are about to read.

So a couple of weeks ago I was getting sick of strapping Gabe in his chair for meal times. It was such an annoying waste of time, since he looked like he had grown big enough to not slip through and fall to the ground. So I stopped strapping him in but then the strap was always in the way and CAKED with food. So I did what seemed like the only reasonable thing to do at the time, and cut the strap out. Now we are plagued with this little ditty of a problem:

This one happened when I told him to sit down and he actually tried to obey,
but didn't quite get it right. The next three kind of explain themselves.

Just crown me Mother of the Year and get it overwith...

PS: I also found the strap holding the infant headrest in my stroller annoying and cut the whole thing out too

What would mom say to you nearly every day growing up? "Natalie what are you doing, you are going off half cocked?" Some things never change. (I have no idea if that is how you spell half cocked, oh mom and her super outdated sayings, ie cotton pickin).

p.s. I figured out how to get rid of the little green arrows next to the post title, if you wanted to let me know

Two things...

The SAME thing that happened to me last week...be he was climbing INTO the highchair. No more high chair. And then the other day he climbed into his booster chair. I can't win.

So...I was reading your sister's comment on outdated sayings that your mom says...what do ya know? My mom says "cotton pickin" too! Do they realized how racial they are?:)

This has nothing to do with this posting. In your list of friends and family blogs I am glad to see that family ranks at the bottom. I thought that family comes first. I feel real good right about now.

OH, this is so me too, Natalie. I HATE straps and I hate tags. Sage's highchair doesn't have straps either (luckily mine came out so that they could be put back in if I ever changed my mind)....so funny. And I can SOOO relate. :)

That is really funny. You can use the old method before high chairs and put him on a stack of phone books on a normal chair and then tie him to it with a dish towel. That would TOTALLY be safer, don't you think?
How do you get your backgrounds so cute? I need to work on mine it is kind of boring.

Why does this sound so much like something I would do? (and probably will!)

You are so hilarious! How many time have I had near misses? I don't want to count. I'm just thankful on those days that I said my prayers. I think you're a good mom!

Okay, follow-up: 10 minutes after I posted this, I was gone out of the room for 45 seconds while Gabe was eating. I came back and he had climbed up on top of the counter, and crawled (while dangling close to the edge I'm sure) over to the knife block and was playing with knives!

Needless to say, I bought a new toddler booster seat that very day!
