Dead Serious -A house and other updates

Many of you have been wondering how everything is going with the house business. Here is just a little update. We have been getting a lot more traffic and inquiries, which has been great. In the days before we left we had a few people come through and most of them seemed pretty serious. I lost all of their contact info when I took my sim card out of my phone though, and I had forgotten to tell most of them that we were going out of town.

Friday someone called and wanted to come through the next day, Saturday. We were still at the Riley's for Thanksgiving but I decided I would leave the next morning early so I could clean, have treats ready, and show this family the house. I got there and the door to the garage had been left open and it was 47 degrees in the house. I hurried to try to clean, hoping the heat from my body as I scurried around would help heat the house. I was busy trying to pick up everything and put away suitcases that were yet to be unpacked from our trip. I then lit the candles and yes, literally lit my hair on fire! My candle lighter thing was out of gas so I had to use matches. I could barely get one candle lit before the fire was all the way to my fingers. I got to a set of 4 candles in my bedroom and I bent down real close, too close, and then I smelled something funny. Just then the left side of my hair went up in flames and I said, "Holy crap, holy crap, holy crap!" only, I didn't say crap. I grabbed it quick and extinguished the flames. I finished cleaning while all the while my gross, stinky, singed hair kept flying in front of my face. Nasty smell. This was literaly 20 minutes before they were to arrive and I still wasn't even dressed. Later, upon closer inspection, I noticed that my eyebrows were also singed, and my eyelashes on my left eye also fell victim. They are now half the length of those on my right eye.

Anyway, I just lowered the price on the house and I put this ad up on KSL and Craigslist, hopefully it gets this house sold, oh wait, it already is. Some guy "from the UK" {though English is not his first language} has been writing me back and forth saying he'll take it and he is sending 10% of the payment to hold the house until his lawyer, who is "out of state" right now, can come and finish up that paperwork...

Okay, here are the links to my ads, the first is ksl.com and the second is craislist. http://www.ksl.com/index.php?nid=218&ad=2212737&cat=
http://saltlakecity.craigslist.org/rfs/489045108.html, I think you will enjoy them (they are almost exactly the same, so you only have to view one.

Okay, I literally just got finished writing all of this. I had left the kids upstairs, Gabe in his high chair finishing up his breakfast and Laine working on a craft, cutting up the coupon mailers with children's scissors. Gabe started crying so I went upstairs to find hair everywhere. I couldn't figure out where it was coming from. Then in walks Laine, with her newly styled mullet. Yes, she just this minute cut off all the hair she could reach. The longest hair she left is to the top of her ears, the rest are about 1 inch long. Here are the pics, though they just don't do it justice.

Did I mention today is the first day of Ben's two week buisness trip to Asia? Yes, I am home alone for two weeks and Laine just cut all her hair off and it is only 10 in the morning. She also cut the sections of Gabe's, but it is not nearly as bad as hers.

Oh my goodness Natalie, what do I say. It sounds like a day I had last week only Brad wasn't gone on a business trip to top it all off. I guess Laine is going to have a cute little pixie cut now. Good luck with your house, I hope it sells (to a reputable person) soon. Do you have a house in Australia yet? I would love to see pictures from your trip, when you can get around to it of course.

okay, so I just looked at your house add and you are hilarious! It makes me want to come a buy it from you guys, heck we have been talking about maybe moving back to Utah so maybe we will. Does the car still come with it?

This post should be called Adventure's in Natalie's world! Oh my goodness, that is hilarious. Too much funny stuff. Is your hair okay or are you going to have to cut it? Those children's scissors must have been pretty sharp! Every time Hallie has cut her or Avery's hair it has been with the real scissors. I remember the first time Hallie cut Avery's hair. She cut her whole pony tail off of the top of her head. She looked like she had some kind of disease as there were actual bald spots all over her head. I wish I could tell you that she learned her lesson, but she just cut Avery's hair again in March!

Update: I just called Ben, he is in San Francisco waiting out his layover. I wanted to tell him about the hair cut and after I told him about it Laine got on the phone and said:

"I cut my freakin' hair and I cut Gabe's freakin' hair."

Oh my gosh Natalie!! What a day you've had already! I also used to be my own stylist and cut my bangs to the scalp. Let me tell you cute I looked in picture for about 2 years! haha I'm sorry, that is so annoying! Of course your husband has to be out of town, that is always what happens...Post the pictures for us so we can see Laine's new do!

OH. MY. GOSH!!!! Her hair! Your hair! Gabe's hair! How is Ben's hair? Did that somehow get damaged too? You should take some disfunctional family pics. Oh man. And your ad... you are insane. :) I guess if you don't sell it, Jordan and I can always live in it for a few months. :)

This is quite a set back in the beauty department. At least you can all rely on your pretty faces. I have honestly thought that if one of my girls cut their hair it would honestly be second close to death (okay, so that's a little extreme). When Addison knocked her tooth out I couldn't bare to have her smile at me for at least 2 weeks, I can't imagine hair. So, this is making me sound very vain . . . Anyway, so sorry for your loss.

I am sorry Nat for laughing so hard on the phone...it reminded me of when Nat was little and we were at my aunts house. Becky and I were visiting and the little darlings were playing away. All of a sudden blood curdiling sounds came from the basement. Nat had cut off her cousins pig tails and trimmed the bangs at the scalp. After seeing the scene, Nat decided she did not want to finish beauty shop and let Heidi cut her hair. I know my aunt was so mad and I felt so bad but what could I do...Hopefully Laine learned her lesson.

Ok, its just as bad as I thought it would be because of the phone cut. Honestly, I think a pixie is the only thing that can fix this! I am dying about her saying she "cut her freakin' hair" were you dying? Sorry I am not there to help!

Oh my "bleep"! Your day SOOO kicks my butt! I'll lock my kid anyday in the car instead of burn my hair AND have a child lose hers! :) :) You poor thing! But...if anyone can do it, you totally can! And like they say in Australia.."you poor wrench!" (hee hee). Good luck with the two week stretch...I will definately keep you in my thoughts/prayers!

PS I am curious what ever happened with your health issues? Did you ever find anything out?

OK, I was laughing so hard at your post - you are hysterical. I have to say, Laine's hair is SOOOOOO stinkin' cute and stylish. So, although it was a rough way to get there - it turned out AWESOME. I love it. I hope your house sells today - you make me laugh so hard! Oh, and I am anxious to try some new recipes next week...looks like lots of good ones. I'm making the Cube steak tomorrow - I have to say I had never heard of such a thing, but I like that it is white trashy...should be tasty. :) Talk to ya soon!

I agree with your sister- I love rading your blog just because I know it will make me laugh. You always have funny things happening- more than the average person. I hope when we see you in a few weeks that you and Laine still have burned and cut short left side hair!
